What is military PCS shipping?
Military auto transport is a service specifically for military personnel, both active and retired. You can receive your PCS orders at short notice so the military car shippers you chose will do everything they can to make your military vehicle shipping service a smooth experience. The carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle as close to your location as possible.
How does military car shipping work?
Military car shipping works the same way as standard auto transport and it’s for active military members only. The Government covers the cost of one POV shipment when it’s a PCS order. For other situations, you can ship one or more cars using an auto transport company.
Does the military ship your car for free?
If you’re an active member of the military and you receive a permanent change of station (PCS) order, the government might pay for you to ship one personal operating vehicle (POV) but there are specific requirements you must check with the Department of Defense. You may be responsible for the cost of military car shipping.
Is there a military discount to ship a car?
Yes, there is a military discount to ship a car but only for active and retired members of the military. When you contact a car shipping company ask about a military discount. You could receive a discount of up to 10% based on current market fluctuations and the total mileage of the shipment.
How much does military PCS vehicle shipping cost?
The cost of military car shipping depends on several different factors. These include the make and model of the vehicle you want to ship, the distance traveled, time frame for the delivery, type of auto transport chosen, condition of the vehicle, location, and time of the year. Our military car shipping rates are very competitive. Use our online calculator for your military car shipping quotes. Alternatively, get in touch with us via phone or Live Chat.
The Avg. price per mile rates shown up above are reflective of current market conditions as of January 2020. The rates are subject to change due to seasonal fluctuations, price of gas, pick-up/delivery locations, etc.

There are several moving options for military personnel when they receive their PCS orders. A Government Managed Move is when the government hires movers for you. PPM stands for Personally Procured Move or DITY (do-it-yourself) and it can be either assisted or self. PPM-self is when you do everything yourself. Whereas PPM-assisted is when you hire someone yourself to do the work for you.
How long does military vehicle shipping take?
A variety of factors affect the time it takes for your vehicle to be shipped. The most obvious is distance.
