We pick up your vehicle

On the scheduled pick-up day, you’ll be given a few hours notice that the carrier is on their way. They need to confirm that the pick-up location is safe and legal for a large commercial vehicle. If it’s not, you need to think of an alternative location. Consider a wider or unrestricted street nearby, a parking lot that’s close by, or maybe your place of work. They are also getting in touch to confirm someone will be available to release the vehicle. If you can’t be there you can nominate a third-party to act on your behalf, for example, a neighbor, friend, relative, or work colleague.

When the carrier arrives you and the driver must closely inspect the vehicle for any existing damage. Any ding, dents, scratches, for example, must be recorded on the Bill of Lading. You’ll both have to sign this important document. You’ll be given a copy to keep safe.

The vehicle will then be carefully loaded onto the trailer and you can say your goodbyes. For your peace of mind, you can keep in regular contact with the driver. Regular updates can also be arranged by phone, email, or Live Chat.

You receive your vehicle

In a few days time, you’ll be contacted again to let you know your vehicle is almost home. A few hours before they’re due to arrive, the carrier will get in touch to let you know they’re almost there. As well being a courtesy call it’s also the carrier’s chance to check on the suitability of the delivery location and to make sure you’ll be at the location to accept the car. You can nominate a third party, such as a friend, relative, neighbor, or acquaintance, if you’re not going to be available. They do, however, have to be 18 years of age or older.

When your vehicle is delivered, you must check it over once again to ensure everything is in order. The final step is to sign the Bill of Lading to accept delivery. If you opted for a Discounted Cash Price, the balance now has to be made either in cash, cashier’s check, or money order.
