What is the difference between a Carrier and a Broker?

A Carrier is the company that physically transports the vehicle and usually has dedicated routes. A Broker is a company that arranges the vehicle shipment by verifying and prescreening the carriers that will be completing the shipment. The broker can offer a better rate because the broker works with a large pool of carriers. Brokers make sure that the carrier selected has the proper operating authority and insurance requirements.
