Open car shipping: this is the most popular and most budget-friendly way to get your vehicle from point A to point B. With open car shipping, your car is loaded onto a double decker transport trailer with several others, making for efficient routing for the driver. It does leave your car exposed to the elements, but it’s by far the most cost-effective way to handle things. 

Enclosed car transport: let’s say you’ve got a rare 1950s Chevy, a high-dollar Ferrari or a half-complete project car and you’d prefer it be shipped so that it’s protected from weather and curious passersby. With enclosed car transport, your car will be loaded into a closed trailer and locked in for security; it does come at an enhanced cost, but it’s a very safe way to transport your car. 

Cross country car transport: cost/mile is a big part of any shipping calculation for a logistics company, so long-distance runs are always going to be more expensive. The good news is that for very long runs, SGT’s cost/mile starts to drop, making cross country car transport a great value.

Guaranteed pickup service: nobody has all day to wait for the cable guy, the plumber or the auto transport driver. That’s why we offer guaranteed pickup service, which is your assurance that you’ll see your transport driver at a preset time and date.

White glove shipping: for a very rare or valuable car (think a Bentley, a Rolls or a Brass Age antique from the 1910s), white glove shipping offers an upgrade in handling and security. That means enhanced monitoring, regular check-ins and premium procedures for transport. 

Door-to-door transport: this is the ultimate offering for convenience; like the name suggests, we pick up your car at your curbside location, then dropoff will be at curbside as well. 

If you live in a congested city or suburban neighborhood, it might be difficult (or even illegal) to get an 18-wheel transport truck onto your residential street. If so, consider setting up your rendezvous with the driver at a more accessible spot, such as a parking lot.

Please be sure your car’s battery is charged, all four tires are inflated, and the headlights and taillights work properly. 

Don’t forget your driver will need a copy of your ignition key.

We can and do ship non-running vehicles; however, if your car can’t start, run and drive under its own power, please let us know in advance. It takes special arrangements to ship a vehicle that’s not in running condition.

Your driver will ask you to do a vehicle condition report (he will do the same for his Bill of Lading). It’s a good idea to take pictures of the car’s condition; also, consider giving it a wash job, as scrapes, dings and other imperfections are easier to spot on a clean car. 

It’s recommended that you remove any external accessories like bike racks, cargo boxes or antennas before shipping. 

DOT regs prohibit shipping personal items and vehicles in the same transport truck. You can, however, ship as much as 100 pounds of personal items as long as they’re secured in a box or suitcase and stowed in the trunk.
