Our customers' feedback and experience with us:

Karen
from Maryland to Wisconsin
I was purchasing a vehicle that is not sold in my state of Wisconsin so I ordered it from Maryland. There was an article that was written about bus transport companies for various reasons. I reached out to all of the companies that were mentioned in the article and got quotes from all of them. I also cross-checked that with online reviews to make sure that those were also jiving with the company being a reputable business. SGT wasn't the lowest quote that I got. But the companies that were providing the lowest quotes had sketchy reviews so I ended up going with SGT because it was in the middle in terms of price but had overwhelmingly positive reviews.
SGT was awesome. They were quick to respond and anytime I had a question about the carrier, they offered to call the carrier for me. It was nice to only have one contact I really had to deal with. When I reached out to the carrier, they got back to me but they were not super communicative. I didn't really know what to expect on exactly when the car was coming, which was relevant to me. I was picking the car up at my parents’ house because it was cheaper to have it shipped there. I needed to know when the car was coming.

The carrier gave me a range of time then that bumped out three hours then that bumped out another hour then it came out another hour. It was to the point where it went from, “Oh, this car is being dropped off at noon, and I can get it while my daughter's at school,” to “No, now my daughter is coming with. And it's a family trip that we're going after dinner to go and get it.” It was dark when we went to pick up the car but it was fine. It was still delivered the day they said it was going to be delivered. Overall, it was okay. But it would have been nice to have a little bit of a smaller window that they actually kept.
Michael
from Montana
The car was picked up in Montana on schedule. The delivery was earlier than scheduled. But the driver was kind enough to drive the vehicle in my driveway and leave the key on my porch. It was supposed to be COD, but I wasn't there. So they left it right on me to pay, which was kind of risky on their end. But maybe they figured that I was good for it and indeed I am. Overall, it was a very favorable experience. It was quite seamless.
Lisa
from Las Vegas to Wisconsin
I called SGT Auto Transport, figured out how they worked. They always answered the phone, which is very nice. They're not always first language English speakers. So, that could be a stumbling block depending on who I got. Because each time I called, I got a different representative. But each of them was very knowledgeable. Some people have better personalities than others. Some are slower and more willing to explain, where others are quicker. But they explained it well. Their price was right that I went ahead and booked with them. I was glad I did, because it was seamless.
I had enough confidence over the first phone call to go ahead and book with them. With the knowledge that if I came across someone else who I felt more confident in, I could change it. Because I booked out way in advance. They gave me a timeline. It was a three-day window of when they would pick up my car. And they assigned a driver. They're a broker. Once a driver was assigned to my vehicle, that driver called me and said, "I've been assigned to move your car from point A to point B. I'm gonna pick up your car tomorrow at 9:00 AM. Is that okay with you?" And confirmed it.

The same driver picked up in Las Vegas and then delivered in Wisconsin. And he was wonderful. When the driver said he would be there, he was there. SGT was very good at keeping me in the loop and answering any questions that I had. But the drivers were the backbone of it. Picking up the car on the departing end was great. And they dropped the car 1,800 miles away. The driver called me and said, "I am here. I will be dropping your cars to you tomorrow, if that works." I said, yes. He said, "Okay, I should be there between 10:00 and noon." And he was. I left a deposit up front with SGT. But I had to pay the driver on the back end. I worry when I make a big cross-country move, that companies are legitimate. They were. They did exactly what they said they would do. I'm impressed. Cars came in, no damage. I would use them again.
Shivam
from California to Wisconsin
I recently used SGT Auto Transport to ship my car from California to Wisconsin, which is about 2300 miles. I decided to choose them based on my cousin's recommendation, as he had a good experience with them previously. The customer service was quite good; they provided a quick quote and responded to my queries within 15 minutes, which I appreciated.
They quoted me around $1100 for the transport, and I felt that was a fair price for the distance. The delivery took about a week, which is reasonable for such a long distance. While the car arrived a bit dirty, I understood it was due to the extensive travel.

Overall, I rate my experience with SGT Auto Transport as four stars. Their customer service deserves a full five stars, and the pricing was also fair, earning them four stars. The sales and marketing process was straightforward, which I would rate with four stars.
C
from Wisconsin
I researched around five transport companies before deciding on SGT Auto Transport because of their pricing. Their customer service was satisfactory. The vehicle delivery was smooth; the transporter picked up and delivered my car to Wisconsin promptly, even faster than I expected. I had to coordinate with my wife because the driver was ahead of schedule, but he brought the vehicle right to the location I specified. Although SGT was just the broker and outsourced the job to another transporter, the driver was excellent and communicated efficiently. Overall, I would rate my experience as a 4 out of 5. I believe I benefited from having a good driver, and while SGT facilitated the transport, the credit goes to the driver for the successful delivery.
William
from Sheridan, Wyoming to LA
We needed to transport a car and I looked SGT up on the internet, and compared a few and decided that I'll give them a shot due to the timing, price and because they could do the enclosed trailer for me. The pickup point was in Sheridan, Wyoming. Drop-off point was in Temecula, California. They were gonna pick it up on Friday and deliver it on Monday, but they didn't do that. They showed up on Saturday. I couldn't believe how fast they got there. The drivers was a father and son team. They were very nice, and, apparently, they switched off on the driving. They even stopped in LA and did something else and apologized for being late. I was thinking, "Late? You're early." Because I got a long drive, they parked on the street and offloaded it and drove it up the hill for me. Overall, my experience was good from start to finish.

SGT Auto Transport Picked up our Subaru Impreza in Wisconsin and the next week delivered it to Reno NV. I would give them TEN stars if I could. They did a great job and everything worked out perfectly! I Highly recommend them.
They were very reliable and offered a fair price. It took a lot of stress off of our move!

Types of Vehicle Transportation Services we provide in Wisconsin

All services are available as cross country transportation.

Open car transport: this is a very affordable logistics method that’s the most popular with our customers. With open car transport, your vehicle is loaded onto a trailer with several others, leaving it exposed to the elements but it’s by far the most cost-effective way to get the job done.

Enclosed car transport: like the name suggests, this is a system where your vehicle will be loaded into a closed trailer and locked in for its trip, for enhanced protection and security. This is perfect for a rare, antique, delicate or very valuable car, but it does involve premium costs and the availability of trucks and drivers can be scarcer.

Express car shipping: it’s best if we can have a couple of weeks lead time to arrange the details for your car shipping job, but we know that’s not always possible. We do offer express car shipping to get your vehicle to its destination on short notice (enhanced charges apply).

Cross country car shipping: cost/mile is a big part of the shipping equation, so long-distance runs can be expensive. Cross country car shipping can be a good value, though, as cost/mile actually drops on longer runs.

Guaranteed pickup service: we respect your time, and we don’t want you to have to wait all day for your transport driver. We offer guaranteed pickup that assures the time and date when you can expect your driver, and the same applies for dropoff at the destination.

Prepare Your Vehicle for a cross-country Auto Transportation to or from Wisconsin

When the transport driver gets to your location to pick up your vehicle, there are a few things you can do to ensure a trouble-free experience:

If your car can’t start, run, steer and stop under its own power, that’s something we’d need to know in advance. We do ship non-running vehicles, but it requires extra equipment and time on the part of the driver.

Remember that vehicle curb weight is a big factor in shipping rates. Shipping your car with a quarter tank of fuel or less means a break in curb weight, and saves you money.

Don’t forget the driver will need a copy of the car’s ignition key, and don’t forget to keep the driver’s mobile phone number so you can stay in touch while he’s en route.

Try to ship your vehicle with a quarter tank of fuel or less. Curb weight is a big part of any logistics cost structure, and less fuel in the tank means less weight to handle.

Please inspect your car for any fluid leaks: coolant, power steering/brake/transmission fluid or motor oil.

Don’t forget to get a copy of the car’s ignition key to the transport driver.

Please be sure that your car’s headlights and taillights work, that the battery is fully charged and all four tires are inflated.

If your car isn’t roadworthy and can’t start, run and drive under its own power, please let us know in advance. We do ship non-running cars, but it means special arrangements have to be made.

Top 5 hints for transporting/moving to this state

An old joke that also rings true is that there are two seasons in Wisconsin: Winter and Construction. There’s not much warm weather in the state, and the harsh winters are tough on the roads. This means that any time the roads aren’t being coated in salt, they’re being fixed up and having the damage repaired

Wisconsin is unofficially nicknamed America’s Dairyland as it is one of the nation’s leading dairy producers. Wisconsin is the source of more than 3.17 billion pounds of cheese every year. Locals embrace every flavor down to the last curd, even going so far as to embrace the nickname “cheesehead” with fanatic pride.

As far as the job market goes, America’s Dairyland puts a strong emphasis on the dairy industry, but the state isn’t just about milk. Some of the biggest up-and-coming career paths include business analyst, operations analyst, industrial mechanic, web developer, taxi driver, pediatrician, dentist, and podiatrist.

Wisconsin is ranked #45 overall in the country when it comes to taxes. The state also has one of the highest property tax rates in America.

After moving to Wisconsin, you have 60 days to obtain a Class D or Class M driver’s license. You also have to register out-of-state vehicles and get WI state license plates.
