Open car transport: you’ve seen the double-decker auto transport tractor-trailers that service car dealerships with pickups and deliveries, and that’s what open car transport is like. Your car is loaded onto an 8-car or 10-car trailer along with several others, then it’s dropped off at your destination along the driver’s route. This is a popular option because it’s the most cost-effective way to go, although your vehicle is more exposed to weather and possibly road grit (but really, no more than if it was parked at the curb in front of your house). 

Enclosed car transport: this is the way to go for a rare, delicate or high-dollar car. With enclosed car transport, your vehicle is loaded into a sealed trailer, either inside an aluminum box like a freight trailer or with tarps down the sides. Locked in and protected against the elements on all four sides, it’s the most secure transport method, but it does come at an enhanced cost.

White-glove transport: like the name suggests, this is the premium transport method that gives your vehicle the ultimate in protection and monitoring. This special-handling logistics mode does come at a higher price, but gives you regular updates on the driver’s progress. 

Cross-country shipping: like the name suggests, this is when your driver has to traverse several states for true cross country car transport. This can become expensive, since cost/mile is a big part of calculating shipping costs, but the good news is that the longer the delivery run is, the lower the cost/mile becomes. 

Guaranteed pickup service: we want to work with you and make things as convenient as possible; that’s why we offer pickup and delivery at a prearranged time and date, within a 30-minute window of time. Your vehicle is picked up in front of your house, loaded up and secured, then dropped off at the destination at a very specific time, just like Doordash (except it’s a Utah car transport company). 

Be sure that your vehicle’s headlights and taillights work, the battery is fully charged and all four tires are fully inflated.

People do ship non-running vehicles, such as project cars that need to go to a specialized shop for body work or repair, but if your car can’t start, run, steer, drive and stop under its own power, we’ll need to be informed of this in advance. Non-running cars require special equipment, and more time on the part of the transport driver when it comes to loading and handling.

DOT regulations prohibit shipping a vehicle and personal goods together on the same truck. It’s advisable to remove any personal stuff from your car; however, it’s OK to ship up to 100 pounds of personal items as long as they’re secured in the trunk or cargo area. 

If you’re shipping a vintage car or any vehicle with mechanical issues, leave the driver a little “cheat sheet” of any special quirks he should know about. 

Remove any detachable accessories like cargo boxes, bicycle racks or antennas before shipping. 

You’ll get a copy of the driver’s mobile phone number; hang onto this, as you’ll need it to coordinate pickup and dropoff as well as any check-ins with him while he’s en route.
