Open car shipping: this is the most common type of transport our customers choose. With open car transport, your vehicle will be loaded onto a double-decker trailer along with several others; while it will be exposed to the elements and possibly a bit of road grit, it’s by far the simplest and most cost-effective way to go. 

Enclosed car shipping: if you have a very valuable, rare or delicate vehicle and have concerns about protection for its journey, enclosed car shipping is a good option. With this system, your vehicle will be loaded into a closed trailer and then sealed up and locked in for its entire trip. Your car is then safeguarded against weather and onlookers; while enclosed car shipping has enhanced security, it will also come at a premium price and availability of drivers can become a little scarce.

Express car shipping: while it’s best if you can give us at least two weeks notice when planning your car shipping, we know that things do come up and that’s not always possible. Hotshot car shipping is available on short notice, although costs will be higher.

Cross country car shipping: like the name suggests, this is for long-distance runs where your driver will cover several hundred miles across a few states. Cost/mile is a big part of any quote, but cost/mile actually drops for longer runs and cross country auto transport. 

Guaranteed pickup service: your time is valuable, and if you’re in the middle of relocating you don’t need the hassle of trying to sync up your vehicle pickup and delivery. We can give you an assurance that your driver will arrive at your pickup spot at a prearranged date and time (plus or minus 30 minutes) and will drop off the car at its destination at a predetermined time. 

Remember your quote is based partly on the car’s curb weight. It’s advisable to ship your vehicle with a quarter tank of fuel or less, as this helps keep weight down. 

Please remove any personal items, although it’s permissible to leave 100 pounds worth of personal gear in a suitcase or other sealed container and secured in the trunk or cargo area. 

Sometimes our customers need to ship a non-running vehicle, such as a project car that needs to go to a specialized shop in another state. If your car can’t start, run, steer and brake under its own power, it’s not a problem - but it’s something we need to know about in advance. 

Remember to get a copy of the ignition key to the driver. 

If your vehicle has any weird mechanical quirks, consider leaving a cheat-sheet note to inform the transport driver.

At the time of pickup, your driver will ask you to do an inspection and condition report on the vehicle (he will do the same). It’s easier to spot any scrapes or dings if the car is clean, so consider giving it a good wash job inside and out.

If you want to drive legally in Delaware, you have 60 days to obtain a DE driver’s license. You must also apply for a DE vehicle registration certificate within 60 days. Beforehand, you’ll need to have proof of Delaware auto insurance and proof your out-of-state vehicle has passed a vehicle inspection.

The climate is warm and temperate, and there are four classic seasons, each with its virtues and hazards. Summers tend to be hot and humid, especially inland. Winters are cold but reasonably mild. Snow is uncommon as the temperatures are usually too warm. Spring tends to be somewhat rainy, while Fall is possibly the loveliest time of the year regarding its comfortable temperatures and weather.
