If your car can’t start, run, steer and stop under its own power, this is something we need to know ahead of time. We can and do ship non-roadworthy vehicles, but it requires more time, special equipment and different procedures on the driver’s part. 

Please remember your driver will need a copy of the car’s ignition key.

It’s standard practice to ship a vehicle with a quarter tank of fuel or less. Curb weight is a big part of the equation for shipping costs, and fuel weighs about 6 lb per gallon. Less fuel means less curb weight and lower shipping charges. 

Please be sure your car’s battery is fully charged, all four tires fully inflated, and the headlights and taillights work. 

If you’re shipping a project car or vintage car with any mechanical tricks (such as a temperamental startup procedure), it can be a good idea to leave a “cheat sheet” with your transport driver to inform him. 

If you’re living on a crowded, congested, narrow street in a suburban or urban neighborhood, it can be difficult, impractical or even illegal to get an 80 ft transport truck to your curbside for pickup. If that’s the case, think about meeting your transport driver at an easier, more accessible spot like an open parking lot.
